When TM Verie speaks, you lean in. Not just because her voice carries the confidence of someone who has been on stage since age six, but because she listens first. Her Toastmasters journey has been a masterclass in tuning in before chiming in, and today we are spotlighting the quiet power behind her vibrant presence.
Before she became a familiar face at PICE-UAE & Fellows Toastmasters Club, TM Verie was already crafting her voice. At five, she fell in love with public speaking. By six, she was declaiming with gusto, planting the seeds of a lifelong passion. But what many don’t know is that her talents stretch far beyond the podium.
TM Verie’s love for sports was shaped early on by her parents. Volleyball was her first team love, and she led as Team Captain during her university years. Though that chapter eventually closed, her competitive spirit found new outlets. These days, she thrives in Mixed Doubles Badminton, where energy and teamwork keep her sharp. And when she craves solo precision, Bowling is her game of choice. It is not just about knocking pins; it’s about focus, rhythm, and the satisfying sound of a clean strike.
For TM Verie, PICE-UAE & Fellows Toastmasters Club is more than a meeting room. It is a sanctuary of support, a place where growth is nurtured and potential is celebrated. She knows she is surrounded by people who genuinely want to see each other succeed. That sense of community has been the fertile ground where her listening skills blossomed.
“I used to think speaking was the main event,” TM Verie shares, “but Toastmasters taught me that listening is the real superpower. When you truly hear someone, you connect, you learn, and you lead better.”
TM Verie’s advice is refreshingly direct: “Don’t wait until you feel ready. Just jump in.” She knows the hesitation that comes with stepping up, especially when self-doubt whispers in your ear. But she is quick to remind us that Toastmasters is not a courtroom. “No one is keeping score. Leave the negativity at the door and learn with the group.”
Her growth in listening did not come from perfect speeches; it came from imperfect moments, from hearing feedback with an open heart, and from watching others rise and cheering them on.
TM Verie’s legacy is rooted in encouragement. She wants to be remembered as someone who walked the talk, who learned enthusiastically and uplifted others along the way. For her family, she hopes to model that confidence is not a trait you are born with; it is a skill you build. And for the club, she wants to be the kind of member who made others feel welcome, empowered, and inspired to lead.
“I want new members to feel like they belong from day one,” she says. “That is how we build a club culture that lasts.”
TM Verie leaves us with a rallying cry: “Let us keep pushing each other to speak up and take risks. Celebrate every win, even the small ones. Stay humble, stay curious, and treat each other like family.”
Her journey reminds us that leadership isn’t just about speaking well; it is about listening deeply, encouraging generously, and showing up with heart. TM Verie does not just speak to be heard. She listens to understand, and in doing so, she helps others find their voice too.
